Good to Go Organics Open on Chelsea Piers

New York CityNovember 8, 2010: You’re invited to enjoy organic food on the go overlooking the scenic Hudson River, as Good to Go Organics opens a cart on Chelsea Piers! This new location is in addition to the two existing carts in Central Park (map) that launched in August. The Chelsea Piers location will continue the high standards established in Central Park, serving only great tasting organic food for people in motion.

Founder Andrew McDonnell says this third cart "Allows [Good to Go] to expand our presence into lower Manhattan and we are excited to bring great tasting healthier food options to Chelsea Piers patrons. In a city known for its food carts, Good to Go Organics looks forward to serving food that tastes good, the food you want to tell your friends about, and food you can trust."

Hello, New York City!

Good to Go Organics speaking!

Welcome to Good To Go Organics’ brand new blog! We hope you’ve visited our carts in Central Park and have learned to love them as much as we do!

We celebrated our grand opening celebration on August 9th on Center Drive (right near Wollman Rink)! From that first day just a short month ago, we have made some serious progress: we’ve started a second cart in the park on East Drive, have added three delicious vegetarian options to our menu, and have watched our positive reviews soar, both on the street and on the web! So we extend a hearty “Thank you!” to everyone who has stopped by our carts. By eating at Good To Go, you are indeed helping us change the way New Yorkers eat and are raising the expectations for the quality of food made for the always-on-the-go lifestyle!

Get to know Good To Go! Here’s some background that will make our history and our future even clearer:

Andrew McDonnell started Good To Go Organics in early 2010 with the hopes of changing the New York City food cart game forever. Appalled by the poor quality of and questionable ingredients in typical NYC street food, Andrew set out to raise our standards and increase our options by creating a food cart that provides 100% organic hot dogs, sausages and condiments as well as grass fed, local burgers to hungry New Yorkers and visitors! Lucky for us all, Andrew’s family has been dedicated to organic meat for over twenty years. His brother, Steve McDonnell, is the founder and owner of Applegate Farms, which provides the conscious consumer with organic and natural meats. A beneficial partnership was in order, and opening Good To Go Organics became the next great way to eliminate the average consumer’s fear of reading their food’s ingredients list – except now we can extend our confidence from the stores to the streets!

Earlier this year, we won two locations in Central Park through the Conservancy’s request for alternative food carts. What a great place to start! With runners, walkers, families and parks enthusiasts enjoying the summer weather, we knew Central Park would be a location in which a healthier alternative would make a huge difference – and we’ve gotten a great response, indeed. Customers and passersby have loved our design, which combines a traditional farm stand with a city food cart. Our variety of grilled organic dogs and sausages, SmartDogs and SmartSausages, our large selection of natural and organic drinks and snacks, and choice of whole-wheat buns have been a huge hit! Be sure to watch out for our new carts opening up at Chelsea Piers!

Check out our Menu, which showcases our wonderful sponsors, Applegate Farms, Honest Tea, and Ozery Whole Wheat Pita hot dog and burger buns.
